About First Steps

First Steps Mother's Day Out is a teaching ministry of First Baptist Mineral Wells. Our program serves children ages 2 months to 5 years, providing a loving, structured environment where children can explore the world around them through developmentally appropriate activities.

We believe children are a gift from God, and our teachers are committed to nurturing the whole child — emotionally, mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually.

Program Information

Details

First Steps meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Our school year begins the Tuesday following Mineral Wells ISD's first day and ends in mid-May. We follow the MWISD calendar for holiday breaks and weather closings.

We serve children ages 2 months to 5 years. Our curriculum is ABC Jesus Loves Me — an age-graded, Christ-centered program that makes learning engaging and fun.

Each class includes Bible stories, learning time, free play, music and movement, arts and crafts, snack time, lunch, outdoor recess, and rest time.

Tuition & Fees

Registration Fee

$35 per child, due upon acceptance of registration form. Holds your child's place in the program.

Semester Supply Fee

$40 per semester, due on the first day of class. Covers snacks, craft supplies, and classroom materials.

Monthly Tuition

One child: $200/month.

Two children: $365/month.

Three children: $485/month.

Due on or before the first class day of each month.

Be Prepared

What to Bring

Please send your child with the following each day:

A backpack with a change of clothing in case of accidents or spills.
A packed lunch.
Diapers if needed.
A nap mat for rest time.

First Steps provides snacks and a labeled cup that will be refilled with water throughout the day. Infants should bring breast milk or formula, baby food, bottles, and pacifiers as needed.

Enrollment

Registration is open. Each year there is a $35 registration fee to hold your child's place in the program. You can register online or contact us for a paper copy.
